Talia’s Senior Session at Piedmont Park | Decatur High School Class of 2026

Some sessions just feel effortless from start to finish—and Talia’s was exactly that.

A senior at Decatur High School, Talia is getting ready for an exciting new chapter as she heads to UNC Charlotte next year. We wanted her session to reflect this moment in between—grounded in who she is now, but full of movement, light, and personality.

One Park, Endless Possibilities

We chose Piedmont Park for her session—one of my favorite locations in Atlanta for senior portraits. What I love most about this park is how incredibly versatile it is.

Just a few days before Talia’s shoot, I photographed another senior session there (you can view that gallery here!). Looking at the two sessions side by side, you’d never guess they were taken in the same place! That’s the magic of this park—every corner offers a new story, a new mood, a new backdrop.

For Talia, the vision was clear. She was looking for rural, flowery, soft, and natural, with a few meaningful photos with her mom woven in.

Planning a Session That Feels Like You

Before every senior session, I send a short questionnaire—and Talia’s thoughtful answers made such a difference. She already had a strong sense of what she loved: specific types of light, textures, and backgrounds.

Because of that, I was able to pre-select areas of the park that perfectly matched her vision, which made our time together feel smooth, intentional, and relaxed.

Outfit 1: Golden Light & Soft Florals

We started with a casual, summery look—denim shorts paired with a light yellow top.

We found the dreamiest flowery spot tucked away in the park, along with a set of old stairs that caught the most beautiful end-of-day light filtering through the trees. The glow was soft and warm, wrapping perfectly around her and creating that timeless, almost cinematic feel.

This part of the session felt calm and grounded—an easy way to ease into being in front of the camera.

Outfit 2: Elegant & Bright

Talia’s second outfit—a long white dress—brought a completely different energy.

We wandered along the park paths, stopping by vibrant pink flowers that added the perfect pop of color. We also incorporated views of the Midtown Atlanta skyline for a more iconic city feel, and used rustic architectural elements like weathered pillars for texture and contrast.

This combination of soft elegance and urban touches created a beautiful balance.

Outfit 3: Movement & Joy

Her third look—a short, flowy dress—was made for movement.

We headed to a bridge and pergola area where the light was absolutely perfect. This part of the session was all about twirling, walking, laughing, and letting go.

These are always some of my favorite moments during a senior session—the ones where everything becomes natural, playful, and full of life.

Outfit 4: Relaxed & Personal

We ended with a long denim pant paired with a spring floral top—a look that felt relaxed and very “her.”

This outfit was perfect for sitting on stairs, walking through the park, and slowing things down again. It brought a nice, grounded ending to the session, tying everything together with a sense of ease and authenticity.

A Session That Felt True to Her

Talia was an absolute joy to photograph—open, fun, and fully engaged, while also having a clear vision of what she wanted. That combination is truly the best.

And those moments with her mom? So meaningful. Senior sessions are not just about celebrating one person. They’re about honoring a whole chapter of life, including the people who’ve been there every step of the way.

Ready for What’s Next

Talia, I’m so excited for everything ahead of you in Charlotte. You brought such a beautiful mix of confidence, warmth, and intention to your session—it truly shows in every image.

If you’re a senior dreaming of a session that feels like you—with thoughtful planning, beautiful light, and space to be yourself—I’d love to create something just as personal together. ✨
