Anna’s family photo session was one of my last of 2022. Till the last minute, the forecast wasn’t great (huge understatement here!) but we ended up having a perfect weather! It starting raining just as we were wrapping up the session.

A mix of lifestyle and posed photo session

It was my first time shooting in that Atlanta midtown park – Winn Park -, and as my family photo sessions usually last about an hour, we had all the time we needed to explore and capture a great variety of backgrounds. 

It also helped us get at the same time lifestyle and posed pictures. A combination of both is the best way for kids to cooperate during a session. It gives them time here and there to have fun, play and run. And as you can see, Beck and Magnolia enjoyed running and throwing leaves around during our session!

I am all for a great balance between posed and lifestyle photos, specially with young kids. It is not always easy to smile on demand when you are 2 and 4 years old.

They were so cute and joyful that I couldn’t stop smiling at my computer and at their genius expressions while editing their family session!
