My questionnaire helps me understand my clients needs

In the questionnaire I sent Christie to prepare for her maternity photo session, she wrote « the more laidback the better to grab the candid emotions within the pictures ». I loved that! I think a good mix of posed and lifestyle memories is the best recipe to a successful photo session. And bonus, it gives a nice variety to your final gallery! This is specially true for young kids who can’t show on demand their natural and candid beautiful smile. 

The best time of the day to organize a family or maternity photo session

Each of my sessions is unique. When a photoshoot takes place in one of my go to parks, I can almost organize it at any time of the day as I already know where to find the right light. In Christie’s maternity photo session case, we met at their house in Roswell GA. As I have never been there before, I asked them to look, a few days before our session, at what time their yard is in the shade.

I also check when are the sunrise and the sunset for that specific date as having the best natural light depends a lot on it.

Maternity and family Session in Roswell GA

I met Christie, Adam and Ava on a Sunday afternoon. We spent most of our time in their front yard and in the neighborhood, starting with a few pictures in their bedroom. For a winter day, we were so lucky to have a fantastic and warm weather!

The house was filled with an amazing smell of home made chocolate chip cookies when I arrived. It turned out to be the best bribe ever for a 3 year old!

Ava was a few weeks away from getting a little brother. It was so much fun playing with her and making her laugh – which turned out to be very easy – to get a good mix of lifestyle and posed pictures. My main objective is to show, though my photos, the connection and the love they have for each other! And I think it is clear here 🙂
