Creating natural and authentic photos for my (mostly Atlanta based) clients is my number one goal! Most people feel a little awkward when a camera is pointed their way — and honestly, that’s completely normal. The truth is: none of my clients are models.

Even me, I need direction when I’m in front of the camera otherwise it feels weird, I don’t know what to do with my hands, what will look flattering…

I know the idea of “posing” can feel intimidating, which is why I focus on creating moments rather than stiff, posed snapshots.

Throughout your session, I’ll prompt you with simple, natural movements:
— walking together
— adjusting your hair or jacket
— sharing a laugh with your family
— interacting with your surroundings

These little actions help shift your focus away from the camera and back into the moment. That’s when the authentic smiles and relaxed expressions appear — and those are the photos you’ll love most.

Prepare, But Don’t Overthink

Feeling prepared gives you the freedom to relax during your session. I send all my clients a session guide (I have a specific one for each type of session) to help you choose outfits and a lot ore. We’ll discuss locations around Atlanta, and talk through what to expect before you even step in front of the camera.

The more you know going in, the easier it is to let go and simply enjoy creating memories.
