Emory University graduation photos: There’s nothing quite like graduation season — the energy, the joy, the excitement for what’s next. It’s one of my favorite times of year to photograph. This session with Pia, an Emory University senior, was everything I love about it and more. From the stunning campus scenery to the sweet moments with her roommates and family, every part of her session felt meaningful, fun, and totally her.

The Perfect Day — At Just the Right Time

We had originally planned Pia’s session for an earlier date, but with rain in the forecast, we decided to reschedule—and it turned out to be the best decision! We were rewarded with the most perfect spring morning: blue skies, soft light, and a gentle breeze that made every shot feel light and effortless. Sometimes, a little flexibility brings the biggest rewards!

Kicking Things Off with Roomie Love

We began the session with Pia and her three roommates—such a fun and energetic group! They all wore their graduation caps and gowns for some group photos. Every photo radiated the joy of friendship and accomplishment. These girls have shared so many memories at Emory, and capturing this milestone together made it all the more special.

A Family Full of Pride

Next, we were joined by Pia’s parents and one of her brothers for a round of sweet family portraits. You could feel how proud they were just to be by her side. These kinds of images always feel like little love letters—beautiful reminders of the support system that helped bring the graduate to this moment.

Just Pia—Radiant and Ready

After family portraits, it was time for Pia to shine solo. She brought two gorgeous dresses: a classic short white one that felt fresh and timeless, and a white and blue dress that added a perfect touch of color against the beautiful stonework and gardens around campus. Of course, we also made time for her graduation outfit—complete with cap and gown and some joyful tossing-the-cap-in-the-air moments!
