I had the pleasure of working with Drew, consultant, to create a brand photo session that would showcase not only his expertise but also his approachable and reliable nature. In a world where data drives decisions, Drew Reynolds creator and consultant at Common Good Data stands out by helping nonprofits and the public sector navigate the complexities of data and program evaluation.
The Vision
Before any shoot, I make sure to understand my client’s brand on a deep level. Following a Zoom consultation with Drew, I immersed myself in his world, studying his questionnaire, social media presence, website, and all other available resources about Common Good Data. This research helped me get a clear sense of the values Drew stands for and his clients — nonprofits and public sector organizations that need trustworthy, data-driven insights.
Together, we developed a strategy to communicate his professionalism, reliability, and personable nature, which are core to his brand. We chose a variety of locations to tell his story: a coffee shop, a conference room, a terrace, and a street.
Consultant brand photo session
The locations we selected were intentional, each one contributing to the narrative of Drew’s brand.
Coffee Shop: The relaxed yet focused atmosphere of the coffee shop setting was perfect for capturing Drew in a more casual, approachable environment. Whether working on his laptop or engaging in conversation, these images reflect a relatable side of him that clients can connect with.
Conference Room: We then shifted to a more formal setting to capture Drew in action, presenting and discussing data. These shots emphasized his professionalism and expertise, reminding his clients of the high level of work they can expect from him.
Terrace: On the coffeeshop terrace, we balanced the formality of the conference room with natural light and a more laid-back vibe.
Street: Finally, in the street setting, we captured Drew in movement, in a similar neighborhood where his clients are.
The Outcome
The resulting visuals encapsulates Drew’s brand—professional yet approachable, serious yet personable. By presenting him in a variety of environments, the images provide a comprehensive view of who Drew is and what Common Good Data stands for.
Drew has now a library of photos he can use for any kind of communication: website, social media, brochures, conference… These photos will not just elevate his online presence but attract new clients who resonate with his brand’s mission.
Drew, that was an honor to help you tell your story through visuals, and I love how you incorporated the photos into your website.
