Every now and then, a session comes along that keeps me on my toes—and Raquel’s senior photo session at Winn Park in Midtown Atlanta was one of those unforgettable moments! We had planned a beautiful Saturday evening shoot, with the golden hour lighting up the park in the most magical way. The weather? Absolutely perfect. At least, that’s what we thought…

WHEN THE RAIN CAME OUT OF NOWHERE

As we started the session, everything was going as planned. The weather was cooperating, the energy was great, and Raquel was nailing every pose! I always love blending traditional and trendy poses with a splash of movement, and Raquel was a natural. Whether standing, walking, or sitting, the photos had a perfect mix of poised beauty and joyful spontaneity.

But then, about 30 minutes in, the skies decided to open up and pour! It wasn’t just a light sprinkle—it was a full-on downpour. With no warning from the weather forecast, we had to scramble and dash to our cars. It was a first for me—rescheduling a session halfway through!

RESCHEDULING FOR A FRESH, VIBRANT MORNING

We regrouped and decided to finish the session the following Saturday morning. It turned out to be a fantastic decision! The morning light brought a fresh energy to the second half of the shoot. Raquel, still trusting me completely, followed my lead as we explored another part of the park.

CREATIVE POSES, CANDID MOMENTS, AND SO MANY PHOTOS

I loved getting creative with poses—Raquel effortlessly switched between standing, walking, and sitting shots. We captured so many candid moments in between as she embraced the fun of the morning. Her confidence in front of the camera and our collaboration led to more photos than either of us had expected!

TURNING UNEXPECTED MOMENTS INTO UNFORGETTABLE MEMORIES

Looking back, that unexpected rainstorm turned out to be a blessing in disguise. We ended up with a wider variety of images and an even more memorable experience. It’s moments like these that make me love what I do—turning life’s surprises into unforgettable memories.
